WESTERN REGION ANNUAL PRINT EXHIBITION, 2008

To be formally opened at The Podium, Bath, at 6.30pm, on Monday, November 17^th. by the President of the Royal Photographic Society, Dr. Barry Senior, Hon. FRPS, Including the presentation of RPS Distinction Certificates.

The exhibition will be open during normal library opening hours, from November 17^th to Saturday, November 22nd. Prints will be taken down on Sunday, November 23^rd. There will be a smaller exhibition of prints at the Link Library in Swindon, 16^th to 30th September, directing attention to the main event in Bath.

AWARDS - ONE GOLD MEDAL and SIX RIBBONS

This is the most important annual event in The RPS Western Region’s calendar. Please enter to make this exhibition a great success. Selection is to be made by Kevin Thomas FRPS , at the regional meeting on July 13^th.

RULES OF ENTRY

Your entry form must accompany your submission. If possible, please also include a CD containing your images in JPEG format – longest side 9cms (3.5ins) at 300 dpi. These will be used in the Region’s newsletter and for the website. You are requested to bring, or send with a friend, your entries to any of the May, June or July meetings, preferably one of the first two. A less preferred option is to send them by post to:-Lesley Goode, The Royal Photographic Society, Fenton House, 122 Wells Rd, Bath, BA2 3AH, to arrive by July 9th latest and marked “W R EXHIBITION”

Entries may be returned by post, provided that you enclose packaging and an addressed label with your entry and that you enclose sufficient postage. Due to storage restraints, we are unable to store uncollected prints for an extended period. Therefore, any prints not collected by the first meeting in January, 2009, will, regrettably, be destroyed. Arrangements for collection are at any monthly meeting after the end of the exhibition or by arrangement with the Exhibition Secretary, Ron Morgan, 01225 872898, Ronm@blueyonder.co.uk.

The Podium Library requires that we provide stewards to attend the exhibition during each morning and afternoon session. The exhibition will only be possible if we get sufficient volunteers. Please sign our attendance log at one of the monthly meetings if you are able to help, or tick the box below.

ENTRY FORM-WESTERN REGION ANNUAL PRINT EXHIBITION , 2008

You are invited to submit three prints for selection. At least one print will be accepted.

Two may be accepted but this depends on the size of the entry and the available space.

Overall mount size must be 50cm x 40cm. but the print may be of any size.

Please use single mounts only and do not use hardboard or other heavy material.

Un-mounted prints or other size mounts cannot be accepted. Mark your name and the title on the back of the mount.

You are invited to attend the opening ceremony at 6pm on November 17^th. Light refreshments will be available.
